Introduction to Cupping- Book Below

Learn all about how to taste and evaluate coffee at our Waterloo roastery through an introductory cupping class.
This class is intended for people with little to no prior cupping experience who would like to understand how to evaluate coffee in order to get a better sense of their preferences.
- 90-minute guided session.
- Simplified, beginner-friendly cupping framework.
- Sample 3 different single origins from our repertoire.
- Take home a half-pound bag of each coffee sampled to brew at home.
The roastery currently has a 5-person seating capacity per session.
See availability and book sessions below:
The content of this introductory class was developed using our experience in the coffee industry over the last 20 years, the SCA Coffee Sensory and Cupping Handbook and other reputable industry sources.
Our cuppings are always completely blind meaning that the origins and any information about them (including what the beans look like) will only be revealed at the end of the session. This ensures that the influence of cupper bias is reduced.
Please be advised that although many of the basic concepts are adapted from the SCA Coffee Sensory and Cupping Handbook, we will not be using the SCA Cupping Protocol or the SCA Coffee Taster's Flavour Wheel as these materials exceed the scope of this class.
Please Note:
We have a 5 person seating capacity at the roastery. If you would like to book a session for a larger group of people or you want to customize your cupping experience, please contact us.
